From time to time, DirectiveGroup team members will share their views on a piece by an industry thought leader. Here, Larry comments on an article posted on Forbes by Nicole Leinbach-Reyhle.
It seems like there is still the idea going around with small business owners that they can neglect online marketing. Maybe they have a website in some level of development, or they have a Yelp listing with a couple of reviews. It has been pretty common knowledge for sometime now that a fully comprehensive online marketing strategy is key to stand out among the crowd and make yourself visible to your target audience.
Nicole Leinbach-Reyhle wrote an article recently about the importance of online marketing, but I feel like she missed out on a very important part: Finding a vendor. She briefly discusses the topic, but she doesn’t really stress the fact that not all internet marketing vendors are the same. Many will take your business, do little work, and communicate just enough to keep you sated. This is not the kind of vendor you want! Do your homework when selecting a vendor and make sure that they are a good fit. Oftentimes communication is a key element that these companies lack, and you won’t find out until it is too late.
