Problem:
How often have you heard that you can generate business just by putting up a company page on Facebook and growing your Facebook presence? After all, Facebook is the most used online social media platform in the world today, with more than 1.59 billion active users. And it is free to create a page on Facebook to advertise your business. While having a presence on Facebook can certainly create brand awareness among large audiences & help you receive thousands of ‘likes’ but it certainly doesn’t guarantee success or money. What is more important is building a relationship and nurturing your followers through your Facebook sales funnel until they are ready to buy your products. So what can you do to convert your Facebook fans into loyal paying customers?
Solution:
If you understand why people use Facebook then you can seize those opportunities and drive more people to sales conversion success.
Rule #1: Listen To Your Fans
It is human nature to want to be heard. We care deeply about our opinions and want them to matter. Facebook gives people a platform to say what they want and know that their opinion got out to a lot of people. So give your followers a megaphone to be able to shout what they feel is important and voice their opinion. This is easily done by allowing them to comment or by encouraging customer reviews and testimonials for your products on your Facebook business page. Your fans are more likely to instantly connect to compelling testimonials from peers and friends and want what you sell. Take the feedback from your followers, nurture the relationship to turn them into loyal shoppers who will become brand advocates and promote your products or services.
Rule #2: Engage With Your Audience
Listening is half the job done. You also need to talk to your audience! Facebook is just perfect for a two-way conversation. Use Facebook to engage visitors meaningfully with fun, informative and value-added content that they are likely to comment on and share. Always respond to a comment and reply to it, even if it is just a ‘thank you.’ Answer any questions they may have. Thoughtfully address any disputes. If people can reach you on Facebook, your customer base will most probably grow over time. You can expect engaged followers who feel valued to become loyal clients and also attract others.
Rule #3: Offer Gated Content
Gated content is content that is only accessible when followers can only get access to exclusive content by filling out a form. The user simply enters their name and email address and then is delivered to the page. Offering interested followers something compelling that they want to read or a video they want to see can generate quality traffic and inspire clicks. Additionally, it gives your marketing team a channel to send out exclusive offers and newsletters to turn more followers into customers or subscribers.
Rule #4: Give Them A Reason To Click
People always look for a good story on Facebook. But many businesses post irrelevant and unconvincing things on Facebook. People scroll through countless posts looking at their Facebook timeline so you have to catch the readers’ attention either by using large images and incentivize clicking by including teaser content, coupons or promo codes. If you tell a compelling story, people will definitely listen and in turn, act. But for your followers to act on the information you have posted they need instructions or a convincing and clear call to action (CTA). Without the right CTAs and links, your business stands to lose clicks, subscribers and thereby sales.
Benefits:
Remember that at the end of the day people do business with people and on Facebook it is all about building relationships and then leveraging followers into loyal customers. So dive in and use this social marketing platform to make your business stand out.
